Brian, Hotel Murano Tacoma’s Guest Services Manager

Hello blog world! My name is Brian Correll and I am a 23 year employee of the old Sheraton Tacoma Hotel which is becoming the Hotel Murano. I entered into the hospitality industry as a bellman in 1984 after returning from a two year stint of professional basketball in Wellington, New Zealand. The Sheraton Tacoma Hotel opened just a few short months after my return stateside. In some regard I feel like I am opening another “new” hotel in Tacoma, the Hotel Murano.

My current position is that of Guest Services Manager. I have held several positions during my tenure but always seem to gravitate back to the front of the house, welcoming and greeting guests as they arrive. Guest interaction and the conversations that ensue are what I am all about. I find great pleasure in finding out what brings people to Tacoma, either for work or play. Telling people about Tacoma and all that we have to offer is the most satisfying part of my job especially with the renaissance that has occurred in our city over the last several years.

Outside of work I am a fan of most sports and enjoy learning about different parts of the world. I also enjoy traveling to new and exciting destinations and feel fortunate to have traveled to several locals including the Bahamas, Aruba, Tahiti, Fiji, American Samoa, Australia and of course New Zealand.

If you are in the Tacoma area stop by the new Hotel Murano for a warm welcome and a peak at some of the finest glass art assembled in the NW.

See you soon!
